ADHD-Proof Your LinkedIn Routine
You open LinkedIn to “do something productive.”
Fifteen minutes later, you’ve scrolled, maybe liked a post, maybe hovered over the message button...
And then you close the tab, quietly annoyed at yourself.
Again.
The real cost of doing nothing
Because let’s be honest:
— You weren’t just trying to “scroll.”
— You were hoping to connect. Be visible.
— But the platform gave you chaos, not clarity.
And suddenly your brain was juggling 12 invisible questions:
— Should I comment on this?
— Am I supposed to post something?
— Is it weird to message them now?
— What’s even the point of all this?
…
So you shut it down—and blamed yourself for not having more discipline.
Which only added to the shame pile.
Imagine if 20 minutes was actually enough
No more spiraling. No more tabs left open like guilt ghosts.
Just a simple routine that your brain could trust.
→ A few micro-habits you could knock out in 15–20 minutes
→ A rhythm you could repeat, even on low-energy days
→ A way to build traction without pressure, or cold outreach
That’s what I give my clients.
And now I’m giving it to you.
The ADHD-safe LinkedIn system (that actually works)
Here’s the routine I build into almost every job search plan 👇
Three micro-habits per weekday. One weekly recap. That’s it.
✅ Habit 1: Comment on 2 posts
→ Use your feed—no overthinking
→ Keep it honest and short:
“This hit me. Especially the part about…”
“Oof, I’ve been there. Curious how you handled…”
Why it works:
You get seen without writing posts.
You build connection without overreaching.
And you start figuring out what your voice actually sounds like in public.
✅ Habit 2: Send 1 message
→ Just one. That’s the rule.
→ Low-stakes examples:
“Hey, saw your post—would love to connect.”
“Noticed we both know [Name]—mind if I say hi?”
Why it works:
Relationships drive 90% of job search momentum.
This keeps your outreach human, not transactional.
And it builds the courage muscle—just enough, without burnout.
✅ Habit 3: Check 1 company page
→ Pick a place you’d maybe want to work.
→ Look around: Who works there? What are they posting? Any roles open?
Why it works:
You start recognizing names.
You see how companies communicate.
And you build curiosity momentum—which beats “networking” 10 out of 10 times.
🔁 Bonus Habit: Weekly recap (10 minutes max)
→ Once a week, ask:
What did I comment on?
Who messaged back?
What felt natural vs. forced?
Why it works:
You stop guessing.
You start seeing patterns.
And you stop beating yourself up.
(because now you’ve got data)
It doesn’t have to be flashy. Just functional.
Let me be clear:
This isn’t about building a “LinkedIn presence.”
This is about building repeatable action that fits your brain.
Because clarity builds confidence.
And consistency—even in small doses—creates momentum.
Try it. Then tweak it.
What would your own version of this routine look like?
Try it for a week. Low stakes, zero pressure.
And then ask yourself:
What part of this felt easy to return to?
That’s where your system lives.
